Sammy Gyamfi, Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), has denied allegations of spending GHS173,940 on office refurbishments. Gyamfi described the claims as "totally false" and emphasized that he hasn't made any changes to his office since taking over on January 20, 2024.
Gyamfi stated that all furniture, stationery, and equipment in his office were already there when he assumed his role. He accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of spreading deliberate misinformation following their electoral defeat.
The allegations have sparked intense discussions on social media, with some calling for independent verification. As of now, PMMC hasn't released an official statement on the matter.
Gyamfi urged the public to be cautious of "fake news" and to verify claims made by NPP communicators and social media surrogates.
