KYEREMATEN'S POTENTIAL ROLE IN MAHAMA’S ADMINISTRATION: SPECULATIONS AND INSIGHTS
As President Mahama announces his appointments, Ghanaians are speculating about the potential inclusion of Alan Kyerematen in key roles within the new administration. This comes after Mahama emphasized his commitment to an inclusive government during his inaugural speech, highlighting opportunities for progress alongside Nana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.
Although it's considered unlikely that Kyerematen—a former member of the NPP and founder of the Movement for Change—will be among Mahama’s 60 ministers, there is considerable speculation regarding a prominent position for him. Notably, Kyerematen congratulated Mahama after his election victory and presented a proposal called the Great Transformational Plan (GTP), which includes recommendations to support the new government's agenda.
Kyerematen previously served as Minister of Trade and Industry under President Akufo-Addo but resigned to run for president. In addition to his political experience, he has worked as a trade advisor at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa, where he led the African Trade Policy Centre.
