DON'T APPLY FOR USA VISA WITHOUT READING THIS

1. Prove You Will Return Home

U.S. law assumes all applicants want to stay permanently.

Show you have strong reasons to go back after your studies, such as:

Close family connections

A good job or business waiting for you

Property, investments, or inheritance

Clear career goals in your country

2. Be Ready to Speak English

Most interviews are done in English.

Practice speaking English beforehand.

If your main goal is to study English, explain how it will benefit your career at home.

3. Answer for Yourself

Do not depend on parents or relatives to speak for you.

The officer wants to hear your answers.

Parents should wait outside unless you are a minor and need them for funding questions.

4. Understand Your Program and Career Goals

Know why you chose your program in the U.S.

Be able to explain how it supports your future career in your home country.

This shows you plan to study, not immigrate.

5. Keep Answers Short and Clear

Interviews are very brief—usually 2–3 minutes.

Make a good first impression.

Respond to questions directly without unnecessary details.

6. Organize Your Documents

Your papers should be easy to understand at first glance.

Long written explanations are not helpful because the officer won’t have time to read them.

7. Know Your Country’s Challenges

Applicants from countries with high visa overstays may face stricter questions.

Be ready to explain how you will get good opportunities after returning home.

8. Focus on Study, Not Work

The main reason for your trip must be education.

Working in the U.S. is limited and only secondary to your studies.

If your spouse has an F-2 visa, they cannot work but can volunteer or study part-time.

9. Explain Family Arrangements

If your family stays behind, explain how they will live without your U.S. income.

If the officer thinks they rely on your remittances, your visa may be refused.

If they join you later, it is best they apply at the same embassy.

10. Stay Calm and Positive

Be polite and avoid arguments.

If your visa is denied:

Ask what documents to bring next time.

Try to get the refusal reason in writing.
